Auto and casualty insurance is a way to protect you from the financial burdens that almost always accompany motor vehicle accidents. Depending upon the type of coverage you get, an auto insurance policy can cover the costs of damage to your vehicle and medical expenses that arise from injuries. It can also cover the costs of property damage and medical care for others involved in an accident, where you are found to be at fault. Some insurance policies will also cover the costs of repair or replacement of your own vehicle if it is vandalized, broken into or stolen. Constitution offers various combinations of coverages to fit your needs and budget.

Finding the Right Combination of Coverages for You
In addition to the legally required minimum insurance in your state, you will also have the option of purchasing additional coverages for your auto policy. The following are common questions which might help you to decide what insurance coverages are best for you:
What coverages am I required by law to have?
Liability insurance is legally required in many U.S. states, including Texas. This insurance typically covers claims against you for personal injuries and property damage caused by you or an insured on your policy.
What if a motor vehicle accident is my fault, but I still want the damage to my vehicle to be covered by insurance?
You may want to consider Collision Coverage, which covers repairs to your vehicle, even when the driver of your vehicle was negligent.
Is there coverage for damage to my vehicle that results from something other than a motor vehicle collision, such as fires, floods, vandalism, natural disasters, flying rocks, objects thrown from other vehicles, and other unforeseeable events?
We recommend that you consider purchasing Comprehensive Coverage.
Can I get insurance that covers my medical bills or lost wages, if I am in a motor vehicle accident, regardless of who is at fault?
There are actually two coverages that might fit what you are looking for; however, note that each one has a policy limit that is usually much lower than liability limits. The first is Medical Payment Coverage (MPC). This typically provides coverage to the occupants of your car for medical expenses after an accident. The second is Personal Injury Protection Coverage (PIP), which covers medical expenses and typically provides coverage for lost wages. Make sure to ask your agent about both of these coverages.
Is there a coverage that will protect me if I am hit by a hit-and-run driver or a person who has no insurance?
Although they are violating the law, there are many drivers on the road who do not have any form of insurance. You may want to purchase Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage. Is there coverage for towing my vehicle?

Yes. Ask your agent about Towing and Labor Coverage.
Is there coverage for vehicle rental when my vehicle is in the shop following an accident?
You may be interested in Rental Reimbursement Coverage.
What Does My Auto Insurance Policy Actually Cover?
Because policies vary, there is no single answer that would apply to everyone. If you have questions or are unsure about your policy’s coverage, please review your policy. This is the best way to understand your coverages. You may also call us toll-free at (888) 888-2600, to help guide you through your policy.
